Recorded at Point Studios on the Central Coast. Then and Now features ten new tracks.

Since the release two years ago of his debut CD This Life. Phil's compositions have matured and their meaning distilled so that where once you were hit full in the face with a plank you’re now offered a seat first. The new songs are just as emotive but are constructed in audio landscapes that are more refined since producer Roni Francois has taken the helm.

A crew of top-flight musicians ably abets Phil: Mick King (Guitar), Christian Marsh (Blues & chromatic harmonica), Murray Campbell (Djembe, Moroccan talking drum and percussion) and Paul Rutter again steps up on both fretted & fretless bass guitar duties. Producer Roni Francois adds his multi-instrumentalist talents to the mix via drums, bass guitar piano and percussion.

Over the six months that it's taken to record Then and Now an original and eclectic polyrhythmic style has been created that underpins and enhances Phil’s guitar playing technique and provides solid support to the blues / roots based tales he tells.
